3D Camera Techniques: "Case 39"

This shot is a medium close up which is a shot in between a medium and close shot. It's a shot that's not to far to the point where you can't see the character and it's not to close to give extreme detail. In this scene the women was afraid of the elevator dropping.

In this scene a crane shot was used. These shots are shot with a crane or other lifting device that the camera man would use. These shots are used to get an over head view similar to a birds eye view but less intense.  The two people on the bottom right were leaving a court house. They were displayed and so were several people with cameras.

I would say that this shot could either be a medium or long shot because the characters take up most of the frame. It also only shows half of their bodies. It has the cut off point of a medium shot, and the angle of a wide shot.

3D Camera Techniques: "The Lorax"

In this scene Mr. O Hare was telling Ted that he was always watching. So Ted was looking around spotting cameras in every direction. An extreme close up was used to show the main focus which was his eyes. By just showing his eyes the viewer will have a better sense of what direction the character is looking in.

An up shot is used to show power and control. The camera is below eye level showing Teds vulnerability, and the three mens power and showing that they have the upper hand.

In this scene Ted went to the girl of his dreams home. This shot is a close up which is showing off his facial expression and mood. When a close up shot is used then the viewers eyes are instantly drawn to the main focus which in this case is ted's face.

3D Camera Techniques: "Assassins Bullet"

This is a close up shot displaying a briefcase. This shot is used to frame a specific or important area and so that the viewers eyes can focus on that one object. In the movie there's actually an explosive device within the briefcase that kills several people.

This is an establishing shot which is generally used to show the viewer the typical location of the character. This shot is also used to introduce new scenes. The way the weather is and how empty the area is gives a sense of something bad happening or about to happen.

This is an over the shoulder shot. These shots are mainly used when two people are having a conversation. It also helps the viewer stay focused on the characters and not what's going on in the background.
